Assistant Principal at Urbana Middle School Brings Decades of Experience

 The Urbana Board of Education approved the appointment of Katrina Williams as Assistant Principal at Urbana Middle School. 

Williams is a dedicated educator and instructional leader with more than 20 years experience in instructional leadership, curriculum development, instructional design and professional learning facilitation. She is currently the Director of Student Achievement for Young Audiences Charter Schools in the Greater New Orleans area, where she works to enhance academic performance through data-driven strategies, targeted instruction, data analysis, and collaborative teacher support. 

Prior to her current role, Williams has served as an Assistant Principal, MTSS/504 Coordinator, Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, and Instructional Data Specialist. She has led initiatives that improved student outcomes and strengthened instructional practices on a school and district level. Williams has a proven track record of aligning curriculum with state standards, analyzing assessment data, implementing school improvement strategies, and supporting educators through coaching, professional development, and instructional modeling.

Williams is the recipient of multiple teaching and leadership awards. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in education.
