Thirty-two Urbana High School students have been named Illinois State Scholars for Outstanding Academic Achievement by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. This group of students exemplifies the six essential competencies and life skills outlined in Urbana School District’s Portrait of a Graduate—skills that equip them for lifelong success.
The Illinois State Scholar designation is given to the top 10 percent of graduates of participating high schools every year. Students are selected based on their high ACT/SAT scores and class rank at the end of their junior year. ISAC identifies these students as having “superior academic potential.”
