Urbana Students Recipients of the 37th Annual MLK Jr. “Living the Dream” Scholarship

The 21st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Countywide Celebration is January 16 at the Krannert Center for Performing Arts. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the program begins at 5 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to enter the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Five Urbana students (and one alternate) have been named recipients of the 37th Annual MLK Jr. “Living the Dream” Scholarships. They are:

  • Kiana Amindavar
  • Jamaica Dyer (Willie Summerville Memorial Award for Excellence in the Arts)
  • Ziniera Edwards
  • Rema Salem
  • Jonathan Sanchez-Huanca
  • Kevin Alvarado (alternate)

The Unity Breakfast is January 17 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Vineyard Church of Central Illinois. This event is also free and open to the public.
