We are excited to begin preparations for our upcoming UMS fall sports season and invite all interested students to sign up for athletics. Fall sports include girls basketball, girls softball, boys baseball, boys and girls cross country, and co-ed cheerleading. All sports are open to 6th – 8th grade students.
To ensure your student is eligible to participate:
- Access our UMS Athletics and Extracurricular Dashboard. The following link will take you to the dashboard to access our UMS sports platform: https://schools.snap.app/
urbanams - Select the Registration Tab
- If needed, follow the directions in the link below to register the participant on the dashboard: https://helpdesk.snapraise.
com/how-to-add-a-new/ additional-student-participant - Make sure that you complete all required items on the registration page. If they are not all complete, registration will not be finalized, and they cannot try out without all information submitted.
- Current Sports Physical Required
- All student-athletes must have a current sports physical on file, dated within the last 395 days and before participating in any tryouts, practices, or games. Please schedule your child’s physical with your healthcare provider if needed and submit the documentation to the athletic office/main office at UMS/SGC or upload it via SNAP (preferred).
- The Promise Healthcare Center located at Urbana High School (217-239-4220) does sports physicals for free as well as the Carle Mobile Health Clinic. Below is the date/location schedule for Carle’s Mobile Health Clinic. https://carle.org/

- Tryouts
- More information and tryout dates for all Fall sports will be announced soon. Stay tuned for further updates via email and on our school website.
- IESA (Illinois Elementary School Association) sets the dates for when we are allowed to begin tryouts or practices. Below are the dates as a reference to help with physical planning.
- Girls Softball- July 28th, 2025
- Boys Baseball- August 4th, 2025
- Boys Cross Country- August 4th, 2025
- Girls Cross Country- August 4th, 2025
- Girls Basketball- September 15th, 2025
- Boys Basketball- October 20th, 2025
- Co-Ed Cheerleading- ASAP
