E-Learning Days (Weather or Other Emergency)
USD116 may utilize up to five E-Learning days per year in the event of inclement weather or other emergency. In the event of an E-Learning day, the information will be shared on the district website, social media and via media outlets. Families will also receive an automated phone call, e-mail and text message if they have opted in for that service. USD makes every attempt to notify families as soon as possible. Please note that if school is being held as usual (in person learning), no announcement will be made.
When making the decision to hold an E-Learning Day for any reason, administrators carefully consider the safety of students and staff. There are many factors that impact a decision, including, but not limited to, the ability of our students and staff members to get to and from school safely, the current weather conditions, and forecasted weather.
