Three Level 3 Culinary Students at Urbana High School have earned their ServeSafe Manager Certificate: Jacob Moody, Tim Friedman, and Hurria Akmal.
This is a nationally recognized credential in the restaurant and hospitality industry that gives our scholars real world, career-ready credentials while they’re still in school. This credential demonstrates our scholars can:
- Identify and prevent foodborne illness
- Train kitchen staff on proper food handling
- Ensure compliance with health department regulations
- Manage food safety systems from receiving to service
The Career and Technical Education courses at Urbana High School bring our Portrait of a Graduate skills to life, equipping students with the credentials and experiences they need to advance their careers before they graduate
