URBANA, Ill. – The Urbana Board of Education approved the appointment of the District’s Chief Financial Officer at its Sept. 17 Board of Education meeting. Dr. Mary Schloz will begin her role on Oct. 1, 2024.
Dr. Schloz is joining Urbana School District from Decatur Public School District where she has most recently served as the Assistant Director of Finance, Grants, and Special Projects. During her eleven-year tenure with Decatur, she also served as Assistant Principal of Eisenhower High School and Principal of Stevenson Elementary. Dr. Schloz also spent six years as a middle school and elementary school teacher in Springfield, Illinois.
Dr. Schloz earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University, her master’s degree from University of Illinois Springfield, and her Chief School Business Official (CSBO) endorsement and doctoral degree from Illinois State University.
