Physicals and Immunizations due the first day of school

School may be out for the summer, but the Urbana School Health Clinic (UHSC) staff is in. The Urbana School Health Center offers primary medical, dental and mental health services to children. Now is a good time to schedule required physicals and immunizations. Sports physicals should also be scheduled early to avoid the late summer rush.

“Many students still have outstanding physicals and immunizations from last year so we anticipate quite a rush at the end of summer/start of the school year,” said Jenny Daab, a nurse practitioner specializing in pediatrics and adolescents at Promise Healthcare and the USHC.

Dental services will resume at the school clinic in June and mental health services are available at Frances Nelson or via telehealth, returning in-person to the USHC when school resumes. Promise Healthcare is offering COVID vaccines for all patients 12 and up.

The Urbana School Health Center treats individuals with Medicaid and those without health insurance.  Most other insurance is accepted and no patient is turned away based on ability to pay.
