New CDC Guidance and Registration Information

Greetings Urbana Families and Friends,

Online Registration for returning students is now open! Please log on to Skyward Family Access to register your returning student(s) by July 27th. If you need Family Access assistance, please call (217) 384-3526 or email helpdesk@usd116.org

You can find more information and guides on our website: https://usd116.org/registration/. There is also a helpful step-by-step registration video you can watch here.

If you need assistance, you can call your student(s) school or (217) 384-3526 Monday-Thursday between 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. You may also email onlineregistration@usd116.org.

On Friday, July 9th, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new guidance for schools for the next school year.  The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has fully adopted the CDC’s guidance.  Per our State Superintendent and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), all Illinois schools will use the CDC guidance to start the school year.  You can read the CDC guidance linked HERE and the IDPH press release linked HERE.  District leadership is in the process of reviewing this guidance and will share more information on masking and physical distancing soon. As you review the guidance, please note the importance of being vaccinated. Again, we encourage families with children 12+ to upload vaccination cards or proof of vaccination when they complete the online registration process.

I also want to let you know that online registration will NOT be available on Wednesday, July 21st.  On the 21st, we will be updating our systems and “rolling” all students into the next grade level. Registration will re-open on Thursday, July 22nd.

All my best for a continued safe summer,

Dr. Ivory-Tatum,

Superintendent
