A note from Principal Start – attendance and early dismissal for Tuesday, April 10
A Message from Principal Stark regarding attendance and dismissal tomorrow, April 10, 2018:
On Tuesday, April 10th, Urbana High School students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will participate in SAT-related testing. Our 12th grade students will participate in a College, Career, or Community/Volunteer activity and will not be required to be in attendance on April 10th. Please follow this announcement carefully as it relates to the schedule on April 10th.
All testing will begin promptly at 8AM. Students should bring #2 pencils and an approved calculator to testing. A listing of approved calculators can be found at www.collegeboard.org. Per SAT rules, students are NOT allowed to have Cell Phones or any other electronic communication device during testing. Students are encouraged to leave cell phones at home or to put them in their lockers.
Our 11th graders will take the SAT. The SAT is now the state-mandated test that is required for graduation. The SAT may also serve as a college-entrance exam for 4-year colleges and universities. Free and extensive test-prep is available at www.satpractice.org. The 11th graders will conclude testing at approximately 1:00PM and will be dismissed at that time. Sack lunches will be available for students at the conclusion of testing. Both First Student and MTD buses will run at 1:26.
The 9th and 10th grade students will take a practice version of the SAT called the PSAT. Taking the PSAT will help our 9th and 10th grade students to learn the content and pacing that is on the SAT. All 9th and 10th graders will be dismissed at 12:26 at the conclusion of testing. This is our typical early release time and First Student and MTD buses will run accordingly. Sack lunches will be available to 9th and 10th grade students.
