Below, please find information that is useful for families who are new to the District or who have students who are continuing their education at one of our outstanding Urbana schools. Please note, students who are promoted from one Urbana school to another (i.e., from Dr. Williams Elementary to Urbana Middle School) are considered returning students.

General school day Information
All elementary schools’ first bell rings at 8:10am and tardy bell rings at 8:15am. All elementary schools release students at 3:00pm.
Urbana Middle School starts at 8:45am Monday through Friday, lets out at 3:44pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Students are released at 2:47pm on Wednesdays.
Urbana High School starts at 8:00am Monday through Friday, lets out at 3:16pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday Students are released at 2:26pm on Wednesdays.

School supply lists for the elementary schools and Urbana Middle School can be found on this page. Urbana High School students need basic school supplies. If other supplies are needed for a specific class, the teacher will notify the students.
Student Accident Insurance:
Student Accident Insurance for the 2017-2018 school year – this year the enrollment for Student Accident Insurance Coverage through Markel can be done online or by phone by calling 877-444-5014 for all plans.

Skyward Student Information System
Skyward is the student information database system that USD #116 uses to allow parents and guardians access to their students’ information. Skyward Family Access provides information to families about students’ schedules, grades, attendance, food service meals, as well as providing the ability to contact your students’ teachers and manage your students’ information. Parents and Guardians can sign up for Skyward access during Centralized Registration or by visiting their child’s school and requesting access with the front office staff.
Fees and Payments
The Urbana School District Web Store can process payments for a number of district and school generated fees. These include Before/After School Child Care, elementary school registration fees, UMS and UHS athletic fees, and Urbana Alumni Association membership and special donations, among others.
