MOVEMENT
Sprinting- Sprinting
is the third most important activity in paintball (to me.) This is because
you have to get from one place to another as quick as possible. You
can't exactly take a jog to the next spot. You have to, get this, sprint.
Make sure to leave your head down while running. Ducking works the best
while sprinting. This gives your enemies a small target to hit if they
see you. Sprinting makes paintball one of the best forms of excerise
(If you enjoy paintball more then other sports.)- Straight forward,
the only way to practice sprinting is to sprint. You can increase your
speed as much as you want, but to increase your speed while take-off
is what you need. Considering you only have a short distance to run
(unless you plan on getting hit.) So just go out crouch down and then
take off from one place to another, distance isn't needed, the take-off
is more important. Some speed helps but if you don't get a good take-off
in your next game you are just as dead.
Moving Behind A Bunker-
When you are out in the field you have to hide behind
an object right? All places have bunkers or other items to hide behind.
Learning how to spot these and move behind them is vital. If you don't
know how to hide behind it from fire properly, then you arn't going
to last very long. You will get hit very quickly.- You can practice
this with a friend. Have him stand in front of the bunker, while you
hide behind it. Ask him to move around a little while you try to stay
hidden behind the bunker. The different angle of vision will be the
different angles that there might be a enemy. Other then playing, I
don't get any other way to do it because you can't see what body parts
are showing, you might miss some, that could get you hit.
Peeking The Corner- peeking
the corner refers to the movement in which you use to look (and shoot)
around the corner of the bunker. If you show too much then you will
get hit, but if you don't look far enough you will not see the entire
field.- see MOVING BEHIND A BUNKER for practice, except now peek around
the corner, try to only show the minimum you have to in order to see
him/her.
Crawling- I
myself am not a very big fan of crawling. I don't recommend doing it
in a paintball game either. This is because it's slow, and every second
counts. If your crawling around on the ground while being shot at, you
don't have very much of a chance at surviving. To each his own.- If
you are going to practice it though. I would probably just start out
crawling and then start to crawl around bunkers and such (any object
would do.) The faster you crawl the better your chance at survival.
Conservative Movements-
This is pretty hard to do at first but helps you out
alot in the long run. Conserve your movements. For those of you who
don't know what that means, don't make un-needed movements. Wild and
crazy moves work in the movies but not in real life. In real life those
movements will get you hit. Make each movement quick, effective, and
deadly.- Can't exactly practice this, it's more of a thought pattern
on what to do. That only comes with experience in the game.
Keep Moving- If
you sit around in one spot, what happens? You get shot! So keep moving,
keep advancing, and keep your opposition on their toes. If you don't
they will advance on you and strike. This means the end of the game
for you, without you making any offensive moves on your own.- This too
is a state of thought. You have to keep thinking to think quick, and
react even faster. You have to just keep going, never give your enemy
a break.
