In order to increase the safety for our students, buses will unload and load on Fairview and students will use the main entrance (Door 1). This means, parents/caregivers will not be allowed to park in front of the school on Fairview.
Parents/caregivers will use the current bus lane off of Goodwin entering the South end and exiting the North end. You will be dropping your child off at the entrance where the clock is (Door 8) between 7:55 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. Your child is tardy after 8:15 a.m. Students who are tardy must enter the main entrance (Door 1).
Visitor parking will be available on Fairview outside of arrival and dismissal times. Parking is also available in the lot on the South side of Fairview. You will always be asked to sign in the main office if you enter the building. The North lot is for Staff Parking Only at all times. We will barricade the lot to ensure it is used for only staff members.
In the afternoon, buses will load between 2:50 and 3:10 p.m. on Fairview. Parents will pick up using the current bus lane on Goodwin. Please do not park in front of the school between 2:40 and 3:15 p.m.
When using the current bus lane, which will be called, car lane, cars must keep the traffic flowing; please do not get out of your car. Please just pull up, drop off your child, and pull away. This is a single car lane. Do not pass cars in the car lane.

To Whom It May Concern:
“Approximately at 10:45 a.m., I was asked by the Urbana Police department to conduct a soft lock down because of an occurrence in the neighborhood. We initiated our code red school safety procedures to keep all our students and staff members secured in their classrooms. Learning continued during this code red procedure; we use the emergency procedure when there is a potential threat outside of the school building. We kept in contact with the Urbana Police Department and they notified us when we could end the soft lock down. The code red lasted approximately two hours.
I am very proud of our students for following our school’s expectations today. The students were respectful by listening to directions from adults, and remaining attentive in their classrooms. They showed responsibility by sitting and listening to the announcement from me and directions from their teachers. The students were ready to continue learning after they heard directions from me and their teachers.
Please praise your son or daughter for their exceptional behavior today. They exhibited all three of our school expectations (Respectful, Responsible, Ready).
