The Seamless Summer Option is a federal government-sponsored program that aims to provide children from low-income areas with access to food during traditional summer vacation periods. Children from low-income homes and food desserts often rely on meals provided to them by their schools during the traditional school year. These free summer meals will aid children and families who rely on these free and reduced priced eating options.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture prohibits discrimination against its customers, employees, and applicants for employment. Any person who believes that he or she has been discriminated against in any USDA-related activity should write immediately to the USDA Office of Civil Rights.

Menus for the summer program will soon be available for viewing on the USD #116 website. For more information about the program, please contact USD #116 Chief Financial Officer, Carol Baker at 384-3642.
