Lesson 4: Final Project (3-5 days)
Teacher
will review all the questions generated throughout this lesson plan and have
class discussion on the top 10-15 questions to research. These questions will then
be recorded on a poster. Teacher will
then assign small groups of 4 to work together to research 3 questions of their
choice using the Inquiry Sheet for Determining Importance. It is suggested that students be given
computer lab time (with younger students, have multiple adults to aide in
research) to research their questions. It is also suggested that teacher have some websites preselected for
students to do research. Students will
then pick one question and develop a poster to orally present to class. The following website could be used as a
rubric: ttp://www.sites4teachers.com/links/redirect.php?url=http://www.phschool.com/professional_development/rubrics/oral_presentation.pdf
