Day 3 – Debate

 

Ask the question, “Based on what you have learned about the early 1900’s, would you have supported the 19th amendment in 1919?” Invite students to take a stand. Engage in a debate about the issue of suffrage and women’s rights. Urge students to support their opinions with document based resources.

 

Students will write one paragraph stating their position and discuss at least one document that supports their point-of-view.
