Lesson Five: 

Analyzing Artifacts

 

1.  Hand out copy of a page from the EmigrantsÕ Guide to each student, and give the students 2 minutes to figure out what they can about the page.

 

2.  Show the classroom a copy of the EmigrantsÕ Guide with an explanation of what the guide was for.

 

3.  Hand out the modified worksheet for artifacts.  Students should choose a recorder who writes the tableÕs answers on the worksheet.

 

4.  Use the studentsÕ answers to fill in an overhead transparency of

worksheet.
