Lesson 3:
Determining Point of View
Objective: Have the students complete the graphic organizer so
that they are able to identify the point of view for the Plaintiff, Defendants,
teachers, parents and the Judge in the case.

1.
The students can
put on a mock debate or trial and voice their opinion based on the information
provided in the primary documents.
2.
Have the students
discuss the possible reactions to all parties involved after hearing the point
of view of the opposing perspectives.
3.
After the
students have identified and discussed the point of view of the case
participants, the students will make a prediction about the outcome of the
case.
